Less than a month after he was caught driving under the influence of an unlicensed driver, a man in his 30s who drove without a license was confiscated following a court arrest.

Wonju Jiwon of Chuncheon District Court sentenced 38-year-old A, who was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol without a license, to one year and two months in prison and arrested him in court.

The court found that legal detention alone was not enough, so it confiscated Mr. A's vehicle and car keys.

A was put on trial on March 11 on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol without a license while intoxicated with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.143% on a road in Wonju, Gangwon-do.

As a result of the investigation, it was found that A had driven unlicensed eight times from 2022 to recently, including driving unlicensed on March 27, more than 15 days later.

The court explained that even while the driver's license was revoked, he drank and drove without a license again without feeling guilty, and that the sentence was decided in consideration of the high risk of recidivism.
