A fire broke out at 10:40 a.m. today (17th) in a Grandeur vehicle parked at the Pyeongchang Rest Area on the Yeongdong Expressway in Gangwon-do.
A 51-year-old Navy sergeant identified only by his surname Ha and his 23-year-old son, a noncommissioned officer applicant, found the vehicle smoking with the ignition on, and immediately began to extinguish the fire with a fire extinguisher in his vehicle.
As the fire grew, Ha Won-sa's son and daughter brought more fire extinguishers from convenience stores at rest areas, and his wife called 119 and the fire was completely extinguished after the firefighters arrived.The family of
said they visited their wife's house and found a fire on their way home and immediately extinguished it, adding that they were fortunate to be able to extinguish it before it spread to the next vehicle.
