Park Hyung-wook, chairman of the emergency committee of the Korean Medical Association, will hold a press conference at the Yongsan Medical Association Hall in Seoul at 10 a.m. today to announce the composition of the emergency committee and the direction of its activities.
Earlier, the medical association's emergency committee held a steering committee and agreed to make up a total of 15 members.
Three medical professors, including three from the Korean Council of Major, the Korean Medical University, and the Student Association of Medical Graduate School, and two from the National Association of Metropolitan and Provincial Doctors, will participate.
After the formation of the emergency committee, the medical association plans to set specific negotiations and struggles with the government, and medical students account for 40% of the emergency committee members, which is expected to reflect a large part of their opinions.
Medical students and medical students maintain that negotiations with the government are impossible without a review of the origin of the increase in medical schools in 2025, and some predict that it may be more difficult for them to participate in the ruling and opposition parties' consultative body if they speak out at the emergency committee.
