U.S. President Joe Biden has authorized Ukraine to attack targets inside Russia with U.S.-backed surface-to-surface missiles to counter North Korea's dispatch of troops to Russia, the New York Times reported.

President Biden has changed his policy so far, authorizing Ukraine to use ATACMS missiles with a range of about 300 kilometers to target Russia inside.Officials in the U.S.
said the Ae-Tax missile is likely to strike North Korean troops in Kursk, western Russia, adding that it sent a message to North Korea in response to Russia's deployment of North Korean troops to the war.

Biden figured out North Korea's plan to supply missiles to Russia and provided hundreds of Atax to Ukraine, but imposed restrictions on using them only on Russian-held territory for fear of escalation.

Russian forces are poised to launch an offensive with 50,000 troops, including North Korean troops, trying to retake territory lost to Ukraine, and Biden has expressed concern that Ukraine could be overpowered by Russia if it fails to use missiles.

In the meantime, Trump is negative about additional support for Ukraine and observers say he will try to end the war on the condition that Russia continues to own Ukrainian territory it has already occupied.

Ukraine hopes to exchange territory lost to Russia in the cease-fire negotiations with Russian territory occupied by Ukraine, but if Russia retakes Kursk, Russian territory to exchange could disappear.
