Since Lee Jae-myung, the leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, was sentenced to suspended prison terms and deprived of his right to run for election in the first trial of violating the Public Official Election Act, a strong backlash has been brewing in the political world.

The Democratic Party of Korea has repeatedly criticized the court, calling it a "political judgment," and in the power of the people, it is possible to be arrested in court in the first trial of perjury on the 25th.

Let me connect you to the National Assembly. Reporter Lee Junyeop!

First of all, I think there will be a lot of shockwaves in the Democratic Party.

How's the atmosphere today?

[Reporter]
Yes, the Democratic Party's morning leadership meeting, which ended a while ago, resembled a forum of denunciation for the court of justice in this case.

Park Chan-dae, the floor leader of the first trial, criticized the result as the worst ruling that will remain a stain on the history of the judiciary, saying that the result of the first trial was a clear judicial murder.

Park Sung-joon, the deputy floor leader, also said in a radio interview that there are few cases of prison sentences in the case of the Public Official Election Act, and that it can only be seen as a political decision.

A key party official said in a phone call with YTN that he is confident that the first trial of perjury, which will be held on the 25th, will be innocent, and that a large-scale outdoor rally on the 23rd will proceed as planned.

Within the party, it seems to dismiss concerns that the offensive against the judiciary could backfire and emphasize that representative Lee Jae-myung's leadership will be strong.

Supreme Council member Kim Min-seok emphasized in a radio interview that even if there are 100 misjudgments like this ruling, the trend of regime change is not shaken, and representative Lee is at the center of the trend.

How is the atmosphere of the ruling party?

I don't think he's slowing down the offensive.

In terms of the power of the people, Lee's first trial for perjury is also being launched on the 25th, a week away.

Joo Jin-woo, chairman of the legal advisory committee, said in a phone call with YTN that Lee already had a history of innocent punishment and was unable to give a suspended sentence because he did not reflect.

In particular, he stressed that since an arrest warrant was already requested in the case last year and the arrest agreement passed the National Assembly threshold, it is possible to be arrested in court without voting on additional arrest agreements even if a court arrest judgment is made.

A key party official also predicted that a heavier sentence would be expected on YTN and whether it will be a wedge on the 25th will be the point to watch.

However, there are many voices saying that the "reflective profit" will not be significant, and that the internal reform process, which has been raised due to the issue of First Lady Kim Gun-hee, should continue.

A key party official said that efforts to reform, including a special inspector, will lead to a "two-track" apart from the offensive against Lee, just as the ruling and opposition parties have made when they called for five major reforms in the presidential office.

Please also point out the situation in the floor, you can expect cold air, right?

[Reporter]
Yes, there is a regular meeting this afternoon between Choo Kyung-ho, floor leader of the People's Power, Park Chan-dae of the Democratic Party, and National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-sik.

Special inspector, parliamentary investigation of the case of Chae Sang-byung, and recommendation of constitutional judges are expected to be discussed.
Considering the frozen political situation of
and the large disagreement between the ruling and opposition parties, it will not be easy to reach an agreement.

From today, the National Assembly's Special Committee on Budget and Accounts will begin to review the increase and decrease of the budget based on the preliminary results of each standing committee.

The ruling and opposition parties plan to vote on the budget plan at a general meeting on the 29th after the so-called review by the 25th, and keep the legal deadline of the 2nd of next month, but some predict that it will not be easy due to the extreme confrontation.

I'm YTN's Lee Junyeop in the National Assembly.
