The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority is planning to designate a 20.26㎢ site at the southern end of Ganghwa as a free economic zone by dividing it into stages 1 and 2, respectively.
In the first phase of the zone, infrastructure construction and land supply will be completed by 2035, focusing on green bio and smart agriculture, and the second phase will be further carried out after the completion of the first phase of the development project.
The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority expects Ganghwa Island, a rural area, to create synergy as a new industrial base in connection with existing Incheon Free Economic Zone such as Songdo, Yeongjong, and Cheongna.
