On the 31st of last month, the Supreme Court confirmed the original ruling that Choi lost the plaintiff in a lawsuit filed against the head of Jungwon-gu, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do, asking him to "cancel the imposition of fines."
In 2020, Jungwon-gu imposed a fine of 2.73 billion won on Choi when the prosecution notified him of his violation of the Real Name Law.
In response, Choi filed a lawsuit claiming that it was illegal because he did not actually own the real estate and had never trusted the name, but he lost one after another in the first and second trials.
Meanwhile, Choi was handed over to a criminal trial on charges of violating the Real Name Act and forgery and exercise of private documents, and was sentenced to one year in prison in November last year.
