Police Investigate 7 Executives of Korean Confederation of Trade Unions for 'Unlawful Activities of Assembly'

Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency Commissioner Kim Bong-sik said he is conducting a pre-trial investigation into seven members of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions, who are accused of refusing to comply with the police's order to disband.

At the time, the police decided that there was a safety risk if many people entered the narrow space at the same time and controlled it, but the organizers explained that there was a friction because they said they had to go in all at once.

Commissioner Kim emphasized that compliance demonstrations will guarantee freedom of assembly and demonstration as much as possible and respond strictly to illegal or safety concerns.

On the 9th, the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions and others caused friction between police during a protest against the resignation of President Yoon Suk Yeol, and the prosecution applied for an arrest warrant for four members, but it was rejected by the court.
