It was belatedly known that a woman who was entering the country due to an error in drug detection equipment by customs took off the sanitary pad she was wearing and was searched.

According to the Daegu headquarters customs office and others today (18th), the drug reaction level was high from the e-cigarette liquid in a suitcase in the drug detection equipment installed at Daegu Airport on the morning of the 8th.

The suitcase belonged to a woman in her 30s.

The Daegu headquarters customs office inspected A and his party with a millimeter wave scanner, a machine that identifies objects attached to the body.

In the process, customs officials asked A to take off the sanitary pads he was wearing.

When A, who judged it to be an unreasonable demand, refused to do so, customs officials said, "If you don't comply with the investigation, you may be investigated by the prosecution."

Eventually, Mr. A had to take off his sanitary pad and show it to a female customs official.

After 20 minutes of testing, the Daegu headquarters customs office concluded that there was no problem at the scene because there were no suspected possessions of drugs.

Mr. A said, "I didn't receive any apology (from the customs). He said, "I just had to leave the departure hall and put it back on," adding, "There was no sanitary pad, so it was hard to put my pants and underwear back on because of my menstrual blood."

It is known that the positive drug test was an abnormal problem with the electronic cigarette device in A's party bag.

The Daegu headquarters customs office said, "Recently, there were cases where drugs were actually hidden in certain parts of the body and caught," adding, "It was a necessary investigation following the detection of a positive drug test, and there were no procedural problems." However, he acknowledged that good citizens suffered damage and said he would come up with measures to prevent a recurrence.
