While U.S. President Joe Biden has reportedly authorized Ukraine to use the AeTax missile to strike the Russian mainland, the EU's foreign chief has said the use of weapons provided by the EU should also be approved.

Before the foreign ministers' meeting in Brussels, Belgium yesterday (18th), EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Rousseff Borrell urged member states to agree, saying the EU should approve the use of weapons so that Ukraine can not only stop arrows but also match archers.

In a related development, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barro said allowing a Russian strike with long-range missiles provided to Ukraine was one option considered by France.

German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock and Dutch Foreign Minister Kaspar Feltkamp also said the U.S. decision to use weapons was appropriate at this point.
