Prosecutors seek additional four-year prison sentence for Oh Jae-won in additional indictment of 'Sleeping Agent Prescription'

The prosecution sentenced Oh Jae-won, a former professional baseball player from the national team, to prison in the first trial for prescribing sleeping pills on behalf of him.

The prosecution asked the court to sentence Oh to four years in prison and a fine of 23 million won at his final trial held at the Seoul Central District Court today (19th).

Oh was charged with receiving 2,300 prescriptions of steelnox and Xanax, medical drugs, from 14 people, including former and current baseball players, 80 times between 2021 and March.

The first trial will be held on the 12th of next month.

Earlier, Oh was sentenced to two and a half years in prison in the first trial in July for taking methamphetamine and receiving drugs such as steelnox tablets from acquaintances, and last month, he was sentenced to four months in prison and two years of probation on separate charges of receiving methamphetamine.
