aT "The cost of making kimchi for a family of four is lower than usual this year."

The Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation, aT, said that the cost of kimchi for a family of four will be 206,000 won this year, which is less than usual.

According to the aT survey, as of yesterday (18th), the cost of kimchi ingredients for a family of four at major traditional markets and hypermarkets nationwide was KRW 206,747, 3.5% higher than last year, but 6.2% lower than usual.

Earlier, price research firm Korea Price Information announced on the 15th that the cost of kimchi ingredients for a four-person family in the traditional market in Seoul was 330,000 won, the highest price ever.

In response, an aT official explained that the self-investigation was the result of a government discount of up to 40%, and that other agencies investigated the price before the discount.
