Samsung Electronics stopped surging for the second straight session and closed down 0.71 percent at 56,300 won.
KOSDAQ also closed down 0.5% at 686.12.
The local currency was trading at 1,390.9 won against the U.S. dollar as of 3:30 p.m., down 4.3 won.
