Bucheon City Wins Industry Minister's Award for 'Greenhouse Gas Reduction'

Bucheon City said it received the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Award in recognition of its contribution to responding to climate change and reducing greenhouse gases.

Bucheon City produces biogas using naturally generated resources during public sewage treatment processes, uses them to generate electricity, and increases energy independence.

In addition, waste heat was sold as a local heating company, reducing 11,000 tons of greenhouse gases and saving 3.2 billion won in electricity costs from 2021 until recently.

Bucheon Mayor Cho Yong-ik said, "In the future, we will preemptively respond to climate change and promote various greenhouse gas reduction projects."
