A safe mark will be introduced to reduce damage caused by texts impersonating the Financial Supervisory Service.

The Financial Supervisory Service said it will implement a 'text message security mark service' starting tomorrow (20th).

Existing text messages only showed the caller's phone number, so users often did not check the information text for fear of smishing fraud.

In response, the message sent in the future will be marked with certification marks, safe phrases, and the FSS logo to clarify the source.

The service was created in cooperation with the Ministry of Science and ICT, the Korea Internet & Security Agency, and telecommunications companies in the wake of a series of consumer damage with text messages impersonating public institutions.
