The Suwon District Prosecutor's Office said today (19th) that it has indicted CEO Lee, his chief of staff Jeong when he was governor of Gyeonggi Province, and Bae, who was the secretary of his wife Kim Hye-kyung, without detention on charges of professional malpractice.
Regarding Kim Hye-kyung, he explained that he was charged with misappropriation of corporate credit cards, but he has suspended his prosecution.
The prosecution judged that Lee, who was the governor of Gyeonggi-do Province, spent about 106 million won from 2018 to 2021 by spending his budget on food to eat privately or using official cars regardless of official duties.
First of all, the representative couple bought fruits and sandwiches to eat and spent about 37 million won on the Gyeonggi-do budget by falsely deciding on spending under the management of the chief of staff.
He also pointed out that 8.9 million won worth of beef and sushi, which Lee and his wife demanded, was also paid with a corporate card in Gyeonggi-do Province, and that false documents were written as if they were using a corporate card for public purposes.
Lee and his wife then said they used the official car like a private car throughout their term, such as stopping it in their home parking lot and attaching apartment parking stickers, and judged that they made a profit worth 60 million won considering rent and car washing costs.
