Russia's Defense Ministry says Ukraine hit a Russian military facility in the Bryansk region with six ballistic missiles at around 3:25 a.m. local time.
At the same time, Russian forces shot down five of them over Bryansk, claiming that there were no casualties and no facilities destroyed.
He also said the missile was identified as US-made Atax.
Earlier in the day, Ukrainian military sources told local outlet RBC that the Atax missile launched by Ukrainian forces struck Russian military facilities in the Bryansk region, and was successful.
The target is located about 130 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.
The British daily Telegraph analyzed that if this is true, it is contrary to media reports that the U.S. has restricted the use of missiles only in Kursk, northwestern Russia.
Earlier, the New York Times reported that the Biden administration had allowed Ukrainian forces to use U.S.-made long-range missiles, Attacks, to defend the Kursk region.
