According to reports, the Institute under Russia's Ministry of Emergency Situations disclosed its production and said KUB-M can protect people from the risks of explosions, debris, fires and natural disasters, as well as shock waves and radiation from nuclear explosions.
The KUB-M, which looks like a container, consists of a module that can hold 54 people and a module that contains technical equipment, and can add modules if needed, the lab said.
The institute explained that KUB-M has a multifunctional structure that protects people from threats such as natural disasters and human resources, and that it can also connect water.
It can also be easily transported by truck and placed in Russia's vast northern permafrost, the institute added.
The announcement came after the Kremlin warned Ukraine of a possible nuclear use after the U.S. Joe Biden administration approved the use of its own missiles in mainland Russia.
