The U.S. Embassy in Kyiv, Ukraine's capital, said on its website that it received specific information about the possibility of a large-scale airstrike on the 20th.
"The embassy will be closed for safety reasons, and embassy staff have been instructed to wait in evacuation centers," he said.
"Americans are advised to be ready to evacuate immediately if an air raid warning goes into effect," he added.
