On the morning of the 21st (local time), "Disney Content Showcase APAC 2024" was held in Marina Bay Sands, Singapore.
At the site, "Trigger" directors Kim Hye-soo, Jung Sung-il, and Yoo Seon-dong attended a meeting with reporters.
'Trigger' tells a story about an investigative reporting program that relentlessly tracks cases that prosecutors and police cannot solve.
Kim Hye-soo, who plays Oh So-ryong, the team leader of the investigative reporting team, explained the subject that could be somewhat heavy.
He said, "I put in realistic episodes these days, including fake news. So I went through the process of taking out wit and weight. The mood is different for each episode. It's the same work, but it's a work that makes it easy and enjoyable to accept the message, but it's a work that's clear what you want to tell."
In particular, Kim Hye-soo, who suffered a thigh injury during filming, said, "There was a situation where I had to act with my body in the very cold winter. I ruptured my right thigh muscle while running, and since I hurt my leg, I thought I could take a picture of my face, but I couldn't. In the end, I remember setting it up again and filming it, and I remember that scene coming out dynamically," he said.
Kim Hye-soo also praised Jung Sung-il for working with him. He said, "Sungil is basically a pleasant and honest person. The appearance in the previous work "The Glory" seems to have been embodied in acting, and this work may be what Sung-il has, but it is another face. He was a very scary actor than I thought. You may be surprised at the beginning, but all the staff and actors were fascinated by Jung Sung-il's face and eyes," he said.
Jung Sung-il, who plays the role of zero-social parachute PD Han Do, said, "There is a difference between the modifier 'mad stone' attached to the role in the play and the actual appearance of Kim Hye-soo. However, it seems that there were many parts that matched my sister's driving force and confident appearance. He said, "He's a clean person who is as he is."
On the second day of the showcase, the Korean and Japanese content lineup to be introduced at Disney+ was released. The original Korean series introduced 'Lightning Shop', 'Trigger', 'Fine', 'HyperKnife', 'Nokoff', and 'Nine Puzzle'.
"Trigger" meets the audience in January next year.
