Jeon Cheong-jo, who was indicted on charges of investment fraud and assault worth billions of won, was commuted at the appeal trial.

The court sentenced Jeon to 13 years in prison, which is lower than the original trial, saying that Jeon's criminal method is poor, but he seems to be fully remorseful.

Yes, Jeon Cheong-jo, who was handed over to trial on charges of pretending to be a wealthy man, committing investment fraud, and assaulting the nephew of Nam Hyun-hee, a former national fencing team member, was commuted at the appeal trial.

The Seoul High Court sentenced Jeon to 13 years in prison, breaking the original trial, which sentenced him to 12 years and 4 years, respectively, on charges of fraud and assault.

The court explained that Jeon's criminal methods are poor, such as pretending to be a chaebol and deceiving the gender, and there is a high risk of recidivism.

However, he added that he cooperated with the investigation and considered mitigation factors, such as submitting a number of letters of apology.

Jeon, wearing a black T-shirt and a white mask, bowed his head and looked only at the floor while the appeals court was sentenced.

Jeon was put on trial for stealing 3.5 billion won in investment from 35 victims while giving a lecture for a year and a half since April last year.

He is also accused of assaulting the nephew of Nam Hyun-hee, a former national fencing team member, or forging private documents such as resident registration cards to deceive the gender as a man.

The court sentenced Lee, who was accused of aiding and abetting fraud by acting as Jeon's secretary and bodyguard, to two years in prison, heavier than the original trial for one and a half years.

So far, I'm YTN Kwon Junsu at the Seoul High Court.
