Park Jung-hoon, former head of the Marine Corps Investigation Team, will appear in the military court.

This is to attend the final hearing in which the military prosecution will conduct a final interrogation of the allegations of protest.

A total of 10 hearings have been held since December last year,

It's the last time I'm about to be sentenced.

[Park Jung-hoon / Former Marine Corps Investigation Team Leader: I think the actual truth about Chae's case has been revealed. From now on, it seems to be time for this truth to lead to victory and to prove that justice is alive in our society.

Earlier in July last year, Park, who was investigating the circumstances after the Marine died due to heavy rain, transferred a total of eight people, including former division commander Lim Sung-geun, to the Gyeongbuk Police Agency, a civilian, on charges of professional negligence.

However, there has been a long tug-of-war over whether Park Jung-hoon, the former head of the investigation team, violated the order just before the transfer.

Military prosecutors asked the court to sentence them to three years in prison.

The two sides fought to the last minute over whether there was a key issue in the trial, the crime of protest, and the precondition for the "pending of transfer" order itself.

The military prosecution says there have been several orders from his superior at the time, former Marine Corps Commander Kim Gye-hwan,
Former head of the investigation team, Park Jeong-hoon,
Although Kim hesitated after receiving an order from the Ministry of National Defense to suspend the transfer,
The position is that
did not order it directly to himself, so there was no content to protest.

In response to the military prosecution's claim that it damaged the reputation of former Defense Minister Lee Jong-seop on the broadcast, Park refuted the question by saying that he answered the question only to confirm the facts and did not intend to damage the reputation.

The first trial by the military court to conclude that will be held in January next year.

As it has attracted great public attention over the past year or so, it is the first trial, but the impact is expected to be large depending on whether or not the crime of protest is recognized.
