The prosecution, which is investigating the alleged involvement in the nomination, is focusing on finding out whether it is in return.

In the meantime, the prosecution's investigation into officials of the 2022 People's Power Nomination Management Committee seems to be in full swing.

Reporter Lim Hyung-joon reports.

The prosecution called in three people involved in the alleged intervention in the nomination on the same day for a cross-examination.

Kim Tae-yeol, the representative of the Korea Institute of Future Studies, and two preliminary candidates for the Yeongnam region for the 2022 local elections.

Mr. Kim said he would state as it is, but

[Kim Tae-yeol / Head of Future Korea Research Institute]: I will state the various situations with you and Myung Tae-kyun as they are.]

Two prospective candidates declined to comment.

"What are you going to explain today? Is it correct that you delivered it to Myung Tae-kyun, not to Director Kim Tae-yeol?"

The two candidates are accused of handing over 120 million won each to Myung Tae-kyun and Kim ahead of the local elections.

The prosecution believes that the flow of funds is the price of the nomination.

In the midst of this, the investigation into officials of the People's Power Nomination Management Committee at the time of 2022 seems to be in full swing.

They want to look into the process of nominating former lawmaker Kim Young-sun.

The investigation team of the Changwon District Prosecutors' Office is known to have investigated some members of the mission, but the investigation into active lawmakers has not yet been conducted.

Yoon Sang-hyun, a lawmaker of the People's Power, who was the chairman of the mission committee at the time, said, "If you ask me to come to the investigation, I can go," and said, "I didn't ask you to come to the investigation."

Kang Dae-sik, a member of the People's Power who was a member of the mission, and Lee Joon-seok, a member of the New Reform Party who was the leader of the party, also said they have not been contacted regarding the reference investigation.

The prosecution is speeding up to reveal the truth of the allegations by analyzing evidence and investigating those involved.

Attention is also focusing on how and when the investigation team will investigate active lawmakers.
