Russian President Vladimir Putin said on the 21st local time that Russia had tested a new intermediate-range missile on the attack on Ukraine.

Putin said in a speech on state television that Ukraine had recently fired new mid-range missiles at Ukrainian military facilities in response to the country's recent attack on Russia with Western long-range missiles.

It added that a hypersonic version of the non-nuclear ballistic missile was used and that the test was successful.

Putin went on to warn that "we have the right to use Russian weapons against a country that has allowed Ukraine to use missiles to attack Russia."

Earlier, the Ukrainian military claimed that Russia had fired intercontinental ballistic missiles and ICBMs into Ukraine's Dnipro.
