A thousand days after the war in Ukraine began, more than half of Ukrainians hope to end the war even if they concede parts of their territory, according to a poll.

According to a poll of 1,000 Ukrainians conducted in August and October by pollster Gallup, 52% of respondents said they wanted to negotiate an end to the war as soon as possible.52% of respondents said

should be open to transferring part of the territory as part of the end-of-war negotiations'.

38% of the respondents said they should continue fighting until they win and that they were against the transfer of territory.

These findings seem to reflect the fatigue of Ukrainians due to the prolonged war.

In a 2022 poll, 73% of respondents said they had to fight until they won, compared with just 22% in favor of an end-of-war deal.

In last year's poll, 63% said they should continue fighting and 27% said they should negotiate the end of the war quickly.

Gallup said it was the first time that a majority of respondents supported the end-of-war deal had reached a majority.

The former negotiating mediator most favored by Ukrainians appears to be the European Union (EU).

Seventy percent of respondents who wished to negotiate the end of the war said they wanted the EU to play an important role in the negotiation process, while 63 percent chose the UK.

Forty-nine percent of the respondents said they were in the second U.S. administration of Donald Trump.

The poll was conducted before the U.S. presidential election and received responses from presidential candidates from both parties, with 5 percentage points lower than the Democratic Kamala Harris administration (54%).
