In the American League, home run king Judge was also unanimously selected as MVP.

Ohtani, who heard the MVP award at home, smiled brightly and shared joy with his wife Mamiko and friends, and his dog Decoy jumped off the sofa with excitement.

Otani swept 30 first-place votes in the National League MVP vote of the American Baseball Journalists Association.

He hit .310 this season, hit 54 home runs and 59 stolen bases, and swept 130 RBIs.

Not only did it open a new era of 50 home runs and 50 steals for the first time in Major League history, but it also ranked first in all National League home runs, RBIs, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, and OPS.

Ohtani, who won his third career MVP after 2021 and 2023 while playing for the Los Angeles Angels, became the second player ever to be named the Most Valuable Player in both the National League and the American League.

It also made a new history in which a designated hitter was selected as MVP for the first time in the Major League.

Ohtani credited his teammates for winning the World Series.

Judge swept 144 RBIs on 58 homers this season, reclaiming the league MVP he lost to Ohtani last year in two years.
