"Somni," a sleep tech start-up founded by graduates from the Ulsan Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST), has signed an official business agreement (MoU) with the UNIST Healthcare Center to help students and faculty in school with sleep health.

SOMNI is a startup that launched the total sleep care application "Somnia" led by Yoo Jae-sung, CEO of Medical Life Sciences, Baek Kyung-in, Technical Director of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and Lim Hyung-jae, AI Director of Mechanical Engineering.

In particular, Yoo Jae-sung, CEO of SOMNI, has established and operated the nation's largest sleep-specialized channel "Brayner Jay's Sleeping Journey" (750,000 subscribers) through YouTube since 2018, and has been conducting lectures and coaching various companies by obtaining international certified sleep coach status for the first time in Korea.

Esomni signed a business agreement with his alma mater, the UNIST Healthcare Center, and also conducted a special lecture on deep sleep for more than 100 students and faculty members on campus.

Professor Jung Doo-young, a psychiatrist and professor of the UNIST School of Medicine who leads the UNIST Healthcare Center, said, "I have been running clinics for many years and have established a relationship with Esomni as I recognize that the quality of sleep of Korean university students is not good," and added, "We will study how to improve the sleep and quality of life of our school members through cooperation with Esomni."

Through this business agreement, Esomni will work with the UNIST Healthcare Center to support the use of the mobile app "Somnia" to help school students and faculty with sleep health, coach sleep for them, and collaborate with clinical research on sleep health for students from the science and engineering institute.
