The National Assembly's Agriculture, Food, Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Committee reviewed four cases, including the Grain Act, the Agricultural and Fishery Products Distribution and Price Stabilization Act, the Agricultural and Fishery Disaster Insurance Act, and the Countermeasures Act, and voted on all of them led by the opposition party.
The ruling party issued a statement saying it strongly condemned the dogmatic behavior, saying the grain law has serious side effects such as oversupply of rice, and the opposition party countered that it could no longer see difficulties in managing farms.
The revision of the grain law calls for the government to establish and implement measures such as purchasing excess production or selling government-managed grain if rice prices plunge or soar from the base price.
