The ruling and opposition parties decided to recommend three constitutional judges to the National Assembly by today (22nd), but failed to reach an agreement.

Park Joon-tae, a spokesman for the People's Power Party, told reporters at the National Assembly that they are talking behind the scenes and are continuing their discussions to conclude early next week.

National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-sik also said at a press conference that he would wait a little longer, saying, "I understand that opinions between the two parties are approaching quite a bit."

However, it is reported that the Democratic Party of Korea still maintains its position that it is right to recommend two out of three members of the National Assembly.

The ruling and opposition parties are divided over whether to recommend one seat each and decide by agreement or whether the majority Democratic Party will recommend it alone.
