This year, the longest heat wave, tropical nights, and tremendous downpours were unprecedented.
It was the influence of the sea around the Korean Peninsula, which was heated up like a boil, and it was analyzed that more serious climate disasters could come in 15 to 20 years.

Heat waves exceeding 35 degrees and tropical nights continue to Chuseok, and in late November, spring flowers burst into bloom with high temperatures.
If there's heavy rain, it's more than 100mm per hour.
Although there was no direct impact on Korea, four typhoons occurred at the same time in November for the first time in history on the far South Sea, heading north.
All created by the hot sea
These are extreme weather events.
Recently, the temperature of the sea around the Korean Peninsula has risen by 1.5 degrees in the past 100 years, which is 2.5 times higher than the global average.
The boiling sea increases the amount of water vapor in the atmosphere, creating unusual weather phenomena such as tropical nights and extreme downpours.
[Professor Kim Baek-min/Professor of Environmental Atmospheric Science at Pukyong National University: The temperature of the Korean Peninsula is rising so fast that the sea water is approaching 2 degrees Celsius for 40 years, and the water temperature of the East Sea is rising so fast compared to the Yellow Sea or the South Sea]
The tributaries that came through the hemp turbulence enter the East Sea, so....
The pattern of high water temperature around the Korean Peninsula can be predicted by a phenomenon (PDO) in which the sea surface temperature in the Pacific region near the mid-latitude changes every 10 years,
Recently, this data has been showing a negative pattern for nearly a decade, culminating in the high water temperature phenomenon near the Korean Peninsula.
Scientists analyzed that this phenomenon could briefly turn into a positive pattern within a year or two and then show a stronger negative pattern as it is now after 2040.
In other words, more severe weather events can occur.
[Kim Baek-min / Professor of Environmental Atmospheric Science at Pukyong National University: Scientists are also very embarrassed because no one expected the sea around the Korean Peninsula to heat up so quickly. If (PDO negative value) returns to a positive page within a few years, the phenomenon of high water temperature around Korea can be resolved a little. (But) if we go back to the negative pattern around 2040, we could have damage to our country at that time when it's very serious..]
Experts stress that we should look 10 years from now to 20 years from now and thoroughly prepare for high water temperature and damage from climate disasters around the Korean Peninsula.
