Lebanon's health ministry said at least 11 people were killed and 63 injured in an airstrike early this morning on a residential building in the Basta region in central Beirut.
Local media said the Israeli air force fired five missiles, completely destroying an eight-story residential building, and rescue efforts were underway.
The attack marks the fourth time this week that it has targeted central Beirut.
Israel yesterday also destroyed an 11-story building in southern Lebanon known as Hezbollah's stronghold, killing five paramedics.
