Guryong Village held a rally for about six hours from 6 p.m. yesterday, during which police arrested six men, including foreign workers, who built a 10-meter-high iron watchtower.
The rally ended at around 0:20 today, but some residents are continuing their sit-in on the watchtower, and the police are also deploying one task force to prepare for a safety accident.
Guryong Village, called Seoul's last shantytown, passed a plan to develop apartment houses in May, and residents are protesting the move and demanding compensation such as the right to sell.
