Hundreds of North Korean soldiers have been killed in Ukraine's Storm Shadow cruise missile attack, local media reported.Citing military media,
RBC Ukraine' reported that more than 500 North Korean soldiers were killed and three wounded during an airstrike in the Kursk Marino area on the 20th local time.
The wounded included two North Korean officers and a woman, who may be interpreters, it added.
It is the first report on large-scale fighters since more than 10,000 North Korean soldiers were deployed to the battle of Kursk, but it did not provide a specific basis.
Earlier on the 20th, Ukraine mobilized more than 10 British-made Storm Shadow missiles to strike Kursk, the Russian mainland, for the first time.
The target of the airstrike was the building where the Kursk command headquarters of Russia and the North Korean military were located.
The Wall Street Journal also quoted Western officials as saying that a high-ranking North Korean general was injured during the Kursk airstrike.
Russia, which has refused to acknowledge the deployment of North Korean troops, has claimed to have destroyed more than 20 Ukrainian military equipment over the holiday and is restoring Kursk.
There was also a foreign analysis that Ukraine had taken back 40% of its territory in Kursk.
Amid a fierce battle between the two sides, President Zelensky said he could end the war with Russia next year.

Foreign media have said Ukraine is likely to suspend NATO membership and freeze it on the current front, but Trump has not yet mentioned any specific end-of-war plans.
