Putin aide "Thinking about handing over Russian nuclear technology to whom"

With Russia recently revising its nuclear doctrine to ease conditions for the use of nuclear weapons, Dmitry Medvedev, vice chairman of Russia's National Security Council, a close aide to Putin, has made remarks that appear to continue the nuclear threat.

On Telegram today (24th), Vice-Chairman Medvedev claimed that Western media are trying to propose to the United States that Ukraine be supplied with nuclear weapons.

He also said he was thinking about who to hand over Russia's nuclear technology to among America's enemies.

In an interview with Saudi Arabia's Al-Arabiya broadcast yesterday, Medvedev also said that the use of nuclear weapons is an extreme option and that he never wants this to happen.

Russia's newly revised nuclear doctrine says it considers any attack by a nuclear-backed non-nuclear state as a joint attack and can respond with nuclear weapons to conventional weapons attacks that threaten Russia's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
