Ukrainian military chief Anatoly Barilevich says more than 11,000 North Korean troops have been deployed to Kursk, some of whom have been involved in fighting with Ukrainian forces.
"Most of the North Korean troops deployed to Kursk are members of the general unit," Varylevich said. "They disguised themselves as indigenous people in Russia's Far East, and they also have identification cards."
"The North Korean military has been trained to carry out operations in Europe," he added.
Earlier, the National Intelligence Service also said on the 20th that North Korean soldiers were assigned to local airborne brigades and marines, and some were found to have participated in the battle.
In particular, the National Intelligence Service also disclosed that it is closely investigating North Korean military casualties sent to the war in Ukraine because there is specific intelligence.
In a related development, U.S. military media Global Defense Corporation reported that 500 North Korean soldiers were killed when Ukraine attacked the Kursk region of Russia with a Storm Shadow cruise missile on the 20th.
However, it did not provide a source or basis for the relevant information.
