Gyeonggi-do Provincial Character 'Bonggongi' Local Government Character Contest Excellence Award

The Gyeonggi provincial government said that the provincial character "Bonggongi" received the Excellence Award in the Government and Local Government category at the "2024 Korea Local Government and Public Character Festival."

The Grand Prize of the Korea Local Government and Public Character Festival is a public character award ceremony hosted by the organizing committee of the Korea Local Government and Public Character Festival and organized by the Korea Cultural Content Licensing Association and Daejeon Tourism Organization.

The screening consists of five categories, including the government, local governments, public institutions, festivals, popularity awards, and photogenic awards.

At this competition, the city said that the province character Bong-gong was evaluated for enhancing the brand value of Gyeonggi Province by utilizing various contents with a cute and friendly image.

Bonggong named the initial consonants of 'change' and 'opportunity', 'f+h' and 'ㄱ+h', vertically arranged.

It also contains the dictionary meaning of Bonggong (奉) to work hard for the country and society while serving public office, and it is also the theme of Jeong Yak-yong's Mokminsimseo Part 3 (Bonggong Article 6).
