U.S. and Israeli officials said the two sides were on the verge of agreeing a cease-fire in the deal, which calls for a 60-day transition period, according to Axios.
The cease-fire requires Israeli forces to withdraw from southern Lebanon during the transition period, while Lebanese government forces are deployed near the border, while Hezbollah is moving heavy weapons north of the Ritani River.
The report comes as negotiations are gaining momentum, with senior White House adviser Amos Hochstein, who was previously dispatched as President Joe Biden's special envoy to the Middle East, saying on the 20th that "there has been progress."
