With this agreement, Ulsan City plans to make the two major industrial cities of the two countries leap forward as a global hydrogen industry center by combining Hyundai Motor's hydrogen technology as well as culture and education.
Ulsan City and Guangzhou City have a lot in common as industrial cities representing both countries, Ulsan Mayor Kim Doo-gyeom said. "Through this agreement, we plan to open an era of economic cooperation partnership between local governments and create an exemplary case of local diplomacy that leads to economic growth of the Republic of Korea and China."
Guangzhou City is the capital of Guangdong Province, China, with a population of 18.82 million and an area of 7,434 square kilometers.
As of last year, the gross regional product is leading the economic development of southern China based on its economic power of 560 trillion won, which is expected to be an important foothold for Ulsan City to leap into a global city.
