President Jose Munoz, who was appointed as Hyundai Motor's first foreign CEO in 57 years, said he will break through market uncertainty with Korea's unique "quickly" culture.

President Munoz met with Korean reporters at the LA Auto Show on the 21st local time and said this about the Trump administration's plan to abolish subsidies for electric vehicles.

He also explained that if regulations change, they have to respond, and flexibility is very important, and that they are trying to increase hybrid car investment and internal combustion engine production as customers want.

As President Munoz is well aware of the U.S. auto market situation and regulatory trends, some analysts say that he may have greatly adjusted the speed of electricity.

He also predicted that it would be an opportunity for Hyundai Motor to do better, saying that it would be okay if subsidies were eliminated not only for Hyundai Motor but also for all industries.

President Munoz said, "It is an amazing and innovative direction to be appointed as Hyundai's first foreign CEO," adding, "I feel honored and very responsible."
