Authorities are on alert as strong winter storms are predicted everywhere ahead of the U.S. Thanksgiving holiday.

In addition to the strike of airport service workers, it was expected to be the most crowded airport ever.

Thanksgiving season is the busiest time of the year for airports and roads in the United States.

Transportation authorities expected about 80 million people to travel for a week starting on the 26th local time.Congested airport and road conditions are expected to worsen in

soon due to the weather.

The National Weather Service says a major storm has begun in California, causing more snow and rain in the future, which is feared to cause landslides.

A winter storm warning has been issued in the Sierra Nevada region and warnings of heavy snow and gusts of wind in the highlands.

The East Coast region is expected to be most affected by winter storms on the 28th and 29th, the day of Thanksgiving.

[Michael Whitaker / Federal Aviation Administration] This Thanksgiving holiday is expected to be the most crowded. The Virginia Situation Room is working with all airlines in real time to find the most efficient and safe routes in line with weather changes.

Strikes by service workers in charge of cleaning planes and convenience for customers also added to the problem.

More than 800 unionized service workers staged a 24-hour strike at Charlotte Airport in North Carolina on the 25th local time, demanding higher wages.

There were no cancellations or delays due to the strike, but dozens of flights were delayed.

[Betty Harper / Traveller] More families are coming from Chicago and New York, and we're from Nashville. It's going to be really hectic. My son is on his way by car and he said it took him two hours to get out of Chicago.]

Each airport said the Thanksgiving period would be the busiest and busiest in history, and asked them to arrive at least three hours before the flight's departure time.
