The National Human Rights Commission of Korea said it filed a complaint with the National Human Rights Commission, saying that the victim's family suffered an accident due to the negligence of the prison's management when a prison prisoner overdosed on psychotropic drugs.
The NHRC said there is a limit to managing prisoners with limited correctional officials, but thorough management is needed by improving guidelines for prisoners taking psychotropic drugs to prevent similar accidents from happening again.
The prison explained that although the drug was strictly managed, the victim misused the drug by deceiving the worker and took emergency measures immediately to the hospital, but it was difficult to prevent the accident.
