In an official letter to each city and county, Governor Kim ordered thorough prevention of safety accidents for residents by preemptive management of the situation in preparation for the first snowfall, and to pay attention to systematic precautions such as preventing road thin ice based on real-time weather information.
It also urged the government to thoroughly check the pre-operation of snow removal materials and equipment, establish a heavy snow response posture with deployment, prepare for road congestion during commuting hours, pre-snow removal work to prepare for traffic accidents and pedestrian safety accidents, and manage disaster-prone areas such as vulnerable structures.
The province is operating an emergency response system by setting four months as a winter disaster countermeasure period until March 15 next year.
