President Yoon Suk Yeol exercised his right to demand reconsideration, or 'rejection,' of the Special Prosecutor's Office Act of Kim Gun-hee.

This is the third time that the right to request reconsideration of the Special Prosecutor's Act related to First Lady Kim has been approved.

I'm connecting with the reporter. Reporter Cho Yong Sung!

When did you grant the right to request reconsideration?

[Reporter]
The presidential office said in the afternoon that President Yoon approved the request for reconsideration of the Kim Gun-hee independent counsel law, which was deliberated and resolved at the Cabinet meeting this morning.

This marks the third time that President Yoon has vetoed the special prosecution law related to First Lady Kim Gun-hee, and since taking office, he has vetoed 25 bills that the opposition party has handled alone. At a press conference on the 7th, President

Yoon pointed out that it is a constitutional idea to appoint an independent counsel against which the president and the ruling party oppose.

Kim's independent counsel law, which was vetoed this time, was passed exclusively by the opposition party at the plenary session of the National Assembly on the 14th.

Compared to the previous legislation, the scope of the investigation has been reduced from 14 cases to two cases, including "the alleged manipulation of Deutsche Motors' stock price" and "the suspicion related to Myung Tae-kyun."

In addition, the Supreme Court recommends the independent counsel candidate, but the opposition party includes the "right to veto" to demand a re-recommendation,
At a Cabinet meeting ahead of
, Prime Minister Han said, 'The opposition party unilaterally passed the Special Prosecutor Act on First Lady Kim without consultation with the ruling party at the plenary session of the National Assembly,

In particular, he said that if the candidate recommended by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court was deemed inappropriate, the opposition party could exercise its 'right to veto' indefinitely, making it practically possible for the opposition party to control it.As President Yoon

approved the request for reconsideration, the Special Prosecutor Act returned to the National Assembly and went through a re-decision process.

Earlier, the first Kim Special Prosecutor Act passed the plenary session at the 21st National Assembly, but it was rejected in the National Assembly's re-vote at the request of President Yoon's reconsideration and abolished in February.
In the 22nd National Assembly
, the second independent counsel law was rejected in a re-vote on the 4th of last month and abolished after the same process.
