President-elect Trump has chosen Kevin Hassett, former chairman of the White House Economic Advisory Committee, as chairman of the White House National Economic Council, Bloomberg and Reuters reported.

Hasett served as the chairman of the White House Economic Advisory Committee and a senior economic adviser to the White House during Trump's first term, and will put Trump's economic plan into action along with Treasury Secretary nominee Scott Bessent.

Hasett, who has been active in the conservative economy since Trump's first term, is a researcher at Stanford University's Hoover Institute and has written papers on tax policy and energy investment.

The National Economic Council is the White House's control tower for economic policy and serves as economic policy decision-making coordination and economic policy advice.
