Rep. Lee So-young of the Democratic Party of Korea expressed her thoughts about Jung Woo-sung, who got an extramarital affair with a model Moon Gavi, saying, "A society in which others are indifferently respected would be a better society."

On the 26th, Rep. Lee said in a post titled "A Dangsang on Actor Jung Woo-sung's news about his birth" on Facebook, "The controversy over Jung Woo-sung's extramarital affairs has been enveloping the media for several days," and pointed out, "The personal lives of celebrities are always a concern, but I don't sympathize well with him being the subject of criticism and judgment even if he decides to get married."

"In a society where couples with children are allowed to divorce and their choice is respected, can it be a target of criticism for men and women who have children to live separately without marriage?" lawmaker Lee said. "Then, is it okay to divorce after having children and getting married?"

"I don't know why such a thing is subject to judgment and evaluation in the first place," he said. "The decision to live with someone is a very existential decision."

He said, "Just because you have a child together, you have to marry regardless of your relationship with the other person, and you have to live as a couple with the obligation to live together and support. "I feel suffocated for some reason," he said, adding, "The freedom to live alone, the freedom to marry the person I want, isn't this the only freedom and right granted to individuals?"

He also said, "Everyone seems to be saying one thing, worrying about the child born, but I think the idea that parents should maintain a marriage for the child can be biased," and added, "I grew up without remembering my father's face, let alone his responsibility for raising."

Lawmaker Lee said, "Would I have been happier if my beloved parents had lived without divorce? It's an area that no one else can say carelessly," he stressed.

Finally, "But our lives are different in their appearance. Even though there seems to be a standard that is similar to ordinary, they are actually all different. I think a society in which such "different" are casually respected is a better society," he said, suggesting respect for various types of family and parenting.

Earlier on the 24th, Jung Woo-sung's agency, the Artist Company, officially confirmed that Jung Woo-sung's biological child was the child that Mun Ga-bi revealed on social media, and said, "We are discussing the best way to raise the child and will do our best for the child as a father."

On the previous day, Jung Woo-sung's fandom also released a statement of support for Jung Woo-sung, saying, "As there are cases of Cristiano Ronaldo, one of the world's best soccer players, I sincerely hope that Korea will serve as an opportunity to further develop popular culture through open thinking."
