Harbin' was held at CGV Yongsan I'Park Mall in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, at 11 a.m. today (27th). Director Woo Min-ho, who directed the work, and actors Hyun Bin, Cho Woo-jin, Jeon Yeo-bin, Park Hoon, Yoo Jae-myung and Lee Dong-wook attended the event.
'Harbin' is a 1909 work that depicts the breathtaking pursuit and doubt between those heading to Harbin and those who pursue it for one purpose. Director Woo Min-ho of the films "Namsan's Managers" and "Insiders" captured the turbulent journey of the independents by catching a megaphone.
Hyun Bin will play the role of Ahn Jung-geun, a chief of staff of the Korean military in the play. Ahn Jung-geun is opposed to the righteous army when he releases Japanese prisoners captured under the Universal Law without executing them, but after that, he loses most of his righteous army due to a surprise raid by the Japanese soldiers who learned about the enemy's camp, and Ahn Jung-geun loses faith with his comrades.
Hyun Bin confessed that he felt pressured to play a real person. He said, "The will and passion to make it properly came out. I had a lot of worries because I couldn't say the pressure and responsibility of playing a real person, but on the other hand, I loved being given the opportunity to play a meaningful person," he said.
In this work, he emphasized that he wanted to show a new aspect of Ahn Jung-geun. Hyun Bin said, "The coach's goal was to show a different side of General Ahn Jung-geun." General Ahn Jung-geun, who was on his way to the process of going to the great service, must have had various emotions such as anguish, frustration, and sadness as a human being. Nevertheless, I hope that the belief and will that I had to walk to achieve my goal will be expressed a lot," he explained.
He added that he looked for a lot of data to prepare for this. Hyun Bin said, "What I could do was look for as many articles and books written by General Ahn Jung-geun as possible. As I saw the traces at the memorial hall, I kept looking for them for eight months, looking for them, imagining them, thinking about them, and these processes were repeated over and over again," he said, raising expectations for the work.
In the video of the production machine, Hyun Bin drew attention with his enthusiastic performance on the ice lake. At that time, Hyun Bin said, "It was a rough road to Mongolia Lake, and it was a lake that had to go about 16 hours from the airport, and the weather was about minus 40 degrees Celsius." "Rather than being tired, the sights and situations of that time helped me immerse myself in that space."
'Harbin' will be released in theaters on December 25.
