Chungcheongbuk-do has expressed its welcome regarding the integration of administrative districts in Daejeon and Chungcheongnam-do.

North Chungcheong Province Governor Kim Young-hwan held a press conference and said, "We also welcome North Chungcheong Province, one of the pillars of the Chungcheong region, to promote the integration of Daejeon and South Chungcheong Province."

Governor Kim then added that the recent efforts to integrate metropolitan administration are the way to resolve the metropolitan area's unipolar system and strengthen national competitiveness.

Previously, the four cities and provinces in the Chungcheong area decided to launch the Chungcheong area regional association, the first special local government in the country, on the 18th of next month.

The Chungcheong Metropolitan Federation is a special local government formed by four cities and provinces to jointly handle affairs in the ultra-wide area with the final goal of Chungcheong Mega City, a metropolitan living economy.
