An animal group called for a protest and correction broadcast on KBS entertainment show "Animal Is Excellent," which broadcasts a glorification of the owner of the Tangjewon, who has slaughtered dogs for food for decades.

According to the Animal Freedom Alliance, a conservation organization for abandoned animals, the second episode of KBS's "Animal Is Excellent" aired on the 23rd has been controversial, including glorifying animal abusers.

In the past, a business operator who has been operating a meat opening company for 35 years while running a soup kitchen is now running a dog bath shop with his daughter.

The broadcast dealt with a case in which a dog, "Oh Sun-yi," who lost her home, was kidnapped and sold to Tangjewon in 2017 and then slaughtered.

At the time, the owner of Tangjewon was able to know that Oh Sun was a dog because he was on a leash, but he slaughtered it without looking for his guardian and made it a "house owner" and sold it.

Since then, A's father and daughter are currently running a dog bath shop, adding, "I didn't know if there was an owner. I want to repay you with a feeling of atonement," he said.

However, the Animal Freedom Alliance said, "The companion, who has not forgotten Oh Sun's heartbreaking death even seven years after the incident, is suffering greatly from this broadcast. The butcher, who appeared on the show and said, "I want to repay my companions with a heart of atonement for the past 35 years," pointed out that Oh Sun has never offered a sincere apology to her companion.

The business operated by A was notorious as a hotbed of animal cruelty, such as dragging a dog that escaped the floating field with a snare and strangling him about a month before killing Osun, he said. "The production team of 'Animal is Excellent' dealt with obvious animal cruelty cases, but instead of highlighting the victim's pain, they only represented the position of the butcher."

"The performers who watched the video in the studio made remarks in support of the butcher, such as 'it seems to be paying off the burden of their hearts,'" he said. "Even though the victim and the perpetrator are clearly animal abuse cases, the representation of his voice on the perpetrator's side is a clear secondary offense, requiring an early apology and a corrective broadcast."

After the broadcast, the video has been deleted from the official website and the viewer's comment board has been closed to the public.
