A listening session to commemorate the release of Kyuhyun's first full-length album "COLORS" was held today (27th) afternoon in Cheongdam Cine City, Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
This album is meaningful because it is the first full-length album released in 10 years since its solo debut in 2014. Kyu-hyun confessed, "I was worried when I released my first solo album, and I thought, 'I should not do solo activities beyond ej after releasing this album,' but I'm touched that 10 years have passed since then." "It's because of SM that we were able to celebrate our 10th anniversary," he said, adding, "We're still doing so well."
'Colus' is an album that reveals its identity as an artist working in various fields such as music, musicals, and entertainment. In addition to ballads representing solo singer Kyuhyun, songs of various genres such as pop and dance were included. You can also find classical-style songs reminiscent of musical numbers.
Kyuhyun said, "I don't think it was a price because I didn't focus on one field, but I want to live as an artist who can multi-play across various genres while focusing on every moment."
The title song of this album is a band sound about the aftereffects of a heartbreaking breakup called "Endless Day after Day". Although Kyuhyun has a great affection for ballads, it is noteworthy that he put the title as a band sound song this time following his last album "Restart."
Kyuhyun said, "I have a desire to become a performing singer. I wanted to play a song that was overwhelmed by the sound of the band, he said. "If I choose it as a title, I can play it to many people once more, and I want to enjoy it together at the concert hall."
In addition to the title songs, the album includes "Journey," "Universe," "Bring It On," "Last Poem," "Nights Without You," "Horizon," "Now Here, You," and "One Spring Day."
Regarding the colorful track, Kyuhyun said, "I wanted to make an album that felt like watching a single performance when I listened to it from beginning to end. I hope you can listen to it like a performance, like a story, like a person's life," he said.
Producer Yoo Hee-yeol, head of the current agency Antenna, helped with the album work. Kyuhyun said, "He gave me advice on every song. There is the CEO's room right above the recording studio. You can come in and out anytime, so the feedback is fast. It was good because the progress was fast," he said. Producer Yoo Hee-yeol attended the hearing in person and cheered for Kyu-hyun.
Finally, Kyuhyun said, "It's been a long time since I didn't expect to be in the top of the music charts. I had such expectations until the 3rd mini album," he said. At the same time, he said, "I heard that I listen to a lot of music on a snowy day. I think it's a hope torture because people around me say this, but there's a little hope left," he added, giving a smile.
Kyuhyun's first full-length album "Colus" will be released at 6 p.m. on various music sites.
