Three passers-by were seriously injured when a pedestrian passage cover fell from an apartment reconstruction site in Garak-dong, Songpa-gu, Seoul.

One person was taken to the hospital in cardiac arrest, and the cover is believed to have collapsed due to heavy snow.

I'll connect with the on-site reporter and find out. Reporter Jeong Hyeonwoo!

How did the accident happen?

[Reporter]
Yes, it's on the construction site of the apartment, and this was originally where the pedestrian walkway was installed.

But if you look behind me, you can see a steel structure lying long on the floor.

The cover that was installed on the pedestrian walkway fell down.

It is a passageway over 100m in length, and it looks damaged by impact when it falls.

The accident at the apartment reconstruction site in Garak-dong, Seoul, is around 3 p.m. today.

The cover fell over the heads of passers-by passing through the walkway,
A woman in her 50s fell into cardiac arrest and was taken to a hospital under CPR, but she managed to regain consciousness and is being treated in the intensive care unit.

In addition, a man in his 50s and a man in his 60s were also reportedly seriously injured at the time of transfer, but one person was not seriously injured.

Police explained that today's heavy snow caused snow to pile up on the cover of the pedestrian safety passage next to the apartment reconstruction site and collapsed because it could not overcome the weight.
We will also investigate whether the
construction company has poorly installed safety passages.

So far, I'm Jung Hyun-woo from YTN at the accident site in Songpa-gu, Seoul.
